As we are rolling into Thanksgiving time I am thinking about the what makes me thankful in my work. What it boils down to is the people that I meet and the connections that I get to make. What starts off as a business relationship can blossom into something more. Several of my clients I now consider great personal friends but every single person who I have helped has made an impact on me, taught me something and I feel grateful to have shared that time during our home search or sale.
My most recent grateful story started way back in 2003 when I was a new real estate agent and was also pursuing a fashion design at New York Fashion Academy – not in NY – it was actually in Ballard! I met some other creatives there and even after I stopped attending we were able to keep in touch. Years later one of these fashion buddies who is now a Realtor in Kitsap County contacted me about helping her friend buy a home in the Seattle area.
That was last year and Betsy’s friends Jennifer and Alan now are enjoying their home in Mountlake Terrace growing a vast array of incredible vegetables and edibles in their mini-farm like yard.
This photo is me with Jennifer and Alan. We just celebrated with their friends Tom and Sara as I had the pleasure of helping sell their Queen Anne place and purchase a new home in downtown Edmonds. Sometimes it is sad for me after closing as I feel like I ‘broke up’ with my new friends since we are not meeting up on a weekly basis to tour homes. So it’s extra special when clients refer me their friends and I get to hang out with everyone again!
Thank you goes to Betsy for bringing me into this group! If anybody needs a great Kitsap agent – she is your gal! Also – not pictured, are the tiki drinks and the carribean pasta at Calypso in Edmonds that we all devoured. Highest recommendations for the jalapeño corn bread. Dare I say it’s the best I have had!
